Zelensky: Russia is feeding Iran satellite intelligence to target US bases and Gulf state facilities
US bases in Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait are inside a surveillance loop Ukraine says links Russia to Iran's strikes. Zelensky says Russian satellites have tracked Gulf and US facilities since early July, with the imagery reappearing in Iran before and after attacks. Per CBS News.
US military bases in Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait are reportedly caught inside a satellite intelligence pipeline running from Moscow to Tehran, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Zelensky said Ukraine has recorded active Russian satellite surveillance of Gulf states and US military facilities since early July, and that the same satellite imagery later reappears in Iran, both in the run-up to strikes and afterward to assess damage. He cited a specific window on July 19 and 20 when four air bases fell inside the area of interest of Russian satellites: two in Bahrain, one in Jordan, and one in Kuwait. CBS News reported that a senior US official, speaking independently of Zelensky's claim, confirmed Russia is providing Iran with intelligence on US positions in the Middle East. If accurate, the claim extends Russia's role in the Iran conflict beyond diplomatic backing into an active intelligence-sharing relationship, one that touches US forces directly without any direct Russian military engagement. Zelensky said he would instruct Ukrainian intelligence to share its findings with partners.
