The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) pulled into Laem Chabang, Thailand on September 2, 2026, its first port call in 265 days, since stopping in Guam on December 11 ahead of its deployment. Stars and Stripes reported the patrol has included 208 consecutive days at sea, its longest unbroken stretch, and 200 days in the U.S. Central Command area, where the strike group supported strikes on Iran and a maritime blockade of Iranian ports in the Arabian Sea. Aircraft carriers typically make port calls every 30 to 45 days for maintenance, resupply and crew rest, per Stars and Stripes. The carrier, with a crew of roughly 5,000 sailors and Marines, departed San Diego on November 21 and was relieved in the Middle East by the USS George Washington on August 19.
