US Central Command reports its forces have redirected 12 commercial vessels trying to run the blockade of Iranian ports since it was reimposed on July 14. Two non-compliant ships were disabled, including the Mozambique-flagged tanker Lavine in the Gulf of Oman on July 24, and two more vessels were boarded for inspection, among them the Comoros-flagged tanker Charminar, which was cleared to continue its journey. Iran's Revolutionary Guard navy separately says it stopped 4 ships in the same 24-hour period using warning shots, forcing them onto a different route. The two forces are enforcing different rules on the same waterway: the US blockade targets ships moving to or from Iranian ports, while Iran's navy is targeting tankers avoiding its own designated corridor. Despite the standoff, technical talks between Iran and Oman over the strait continued through the weekend.
