Roughly twenty flights were diverted to Liege and Cologne, two more bound for Porto and Malta were affected, and operations did not fully resume until around 2am. Airport operator Lux-Airport called it a precautionary safety measure. Nobody has identified who was flying the drones or why, and this was already the second unexplained sighting near Luxembourg in three days, after a report near Medernach on Thursday triggered an emergency interministerial assessment.
