Ukrainian drones black out Crimea and hit Russian oil refinery, terminal
Ukrainian drones struck the Taman substation that feeds power to occupied Crimea overnight, cutting electricity to Kerch, Sevastopol and Simferopol. In the same hours, drones hit Russia's TANECO oil refinery in Tatarstan and the Tamanneftegaz terminal on the Black Sea, Ukraine's General Staff confirmed.
Ukrainian drones hit three Russian targets within hours overnight into Aug 20: the Taman substation carrying Crimea's mainland power supply, the TANECO oil refinery in Tatarstan, and the Tamanneftegaz terminal on the Black Sea. Power failed in five Crimean cities and stayed unstable for hours. Ukraine's General Staff confirmed all three strikes as part of its ongoing campaign against Russian fuel production and exports.
