Russia's only plant that serially builds Soyuz-2 rockets was hit overnight by Ukrainian Flamingo cruise missiles that flew about 900 km inside Russian territory to reach the city of Samara. The TsSKB-Progress facility is the sole production line for the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle, which Russia uses to place military and reconnaissance satellites in orbit, and it also builds hardware for Rassvet, the low-Earth-orbit communications constellation Moscow is developing as its answer to Starlink. Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation, said the Progress Rocket Space Center was burning after the strike. Two people were injured, with no deaths reported, according to Ukrainian officials. The strike shows Ukraine's long-range missile campaign is no longer limited to battlefield logistics. By hitting Russia's only Soyuz assembly line, it targets Moscow's ability to replace the military and reconnaissance satellites that support its war effort, extending the conflict's reach into Russia's space infrastructure.
