Ukraine drones hit Russia's Bashneft oil refinery complex in Ufa for a second consecutive night
Ukrainian long-range drones struck the Bashneft oil refining cluster in Ufa, Russia on August 1st and 2nd, nearly 1,600 kilometers inside Russian territory. The three plants process more than 23 million tons of crude oil a year, including fuel that supplies the Russian military.
Ukraine's Security Service struck the Bashneft oil refining complex in Ufa, capital of Russia's Bashkortostan region, on two consecutive nights, August 1st and 2nd, 2026, among the deepest strikes of its long-range drone campaign at nearly 1,600 kilometers from the border. The three plants, Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim, Bashneft-Novoil and Bashneft-UNPZ, process a combined 23 million-plus tons of crude oil a year and supply fuel used by Russia's military. President Zelensky confirmed the first strike, and independent geolocated footage from Russian outlet ASTRA showed fire and smoke over the site both nights, while Bashkortostan's governor claimed the attacks were repelled. Ufa's refineries have now been hit repeatedly since April.
