TSMC Q2 revenue hits NT$1.27 trillion, up 36% YoY on AI demand, beating analyst estimates
Every advanced AI chip on the market starts at one fab, and that fab keeps growing. TSMC $TSM posted Q2 revenue of NT$1.27 trillion, about $39.6 billion, up 36% from a year earlier and above analyst expectations. Full results follow July 16. Per Reuters.
Every advanced AI chip sold today starts at one company, and that company just put a number on the AI boom. TSMC $TSM posted second-quarter revenue of NT$1.27 trillion, roughly $39.6 billion, up 36 percent from a year earlier. The figure came in above the LSEG SmartEstimate of NT$1.264 trillion, compiled from 20 analysts. The number matters well beyond Taiwan. TSMC manufactures the processors behind Nvidia $NVDA data-center hardware and Apple $AAPL devices, which makes its quarterly sales one of the cleanest available readings of real demand across the AI supply chain: not announcements, not order backlogs, but chips actually produced and billed. As long as most of the world's advanced chipmaking runs through this one company, its revenue line doubles as a health check for the entire AI buildout. The full second-quarter report with margins follows on July 16. Per Reuters.
