The U.S. Army has awarded Lockheed Martin $LMT a contract worth more than $1.21 billion for the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) Increment 2, an upgraded version of the missile that adds a multi-mode seeker capable of engaging moving maritime targets alongside its existing land-attack role. The Army solicited one bid and received one, with Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, overseeing the award; the contract runs through September 13, 2031. PrSM's baseline range is listed at 60 to more than 499 kilometers, and the Increment 2 configuration completed a 350-kilometer flight test launched from a HIMARS earlier this year. Lockheed separately agreed in March to a deal aimed at quadrupling its PrSM production capacity. Sources: DefenseScoop, ExecutiveBiz.
