SpaceX $SPCX and Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry announced a $100 billion investment to build 'Starbase Louisiana' in Vermilion Parish, which SpaceX describes as its largest center for spaceflight operations. The site will have five complexes with two Starship towers each, for ten launch pads total, each with its own propellant farm. SpaceX President Gwynn Shotwell said the site is designed to support thousands of Starship launches per year. Louisiana Economic Development expects the project to create more than 3,000 direct jobs over the next decade, at an average salary of $92,600.
