Russian drone hunts and wounds vegetable seller at Kherson market
A Russian FPV drone chased down and struck a vegetable seller at a market in Kherson, Ukraine on Tuesday. He survived with shrapnel wounds. President Zelenskiy called it part of a years-long drone hunting campaign against civilians.
Police video from Kherson shows a Russian FPV drone circling a 52-year-old vegetable vendor before diving and exploding near him. He suffered shrapnel wounds and a concussion but survived. Reuters verified the location via satellite imagery. President Zelenskiy and Foreign Minister Sybiha condemned the attack as a war crime, part of what Ukrainian officials call a years-long drone hunting campaign against civilians in Kherson. The U.N. has documented nearly 8,000 civilian injuries and almost 1,400 deaths in Ukraine in the first half of 2026, more than double the 2024 toll.
