Russia strikes Kyiv for a sixth straight day, killing at least 12
Russia hit Kyiv and eight other Ukrainian regions overnight with cruise missiles, jet-powered drones and glide bombs, killing at least 12 people and wounding more than a dozen, including three children. It was the sixth consecutive day of Russian strikes on the capital, the longest such stretch since the full-scale invasion began.
Russia struck Kyiv for a sixth straight day, an unprecedented run of consecutive daily aerial assaults since the full-scale invasion began four and a half years ago, the Associated Press reports. Ukraine's air force said the overnight attack used ballistic, cruise and anti-radar missiles alongside 218 drones and decoys, about a third of them jet-powered. At least 12 people were killed and more than a dozen wounded, including three children. Six employees of state railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia died when a missile hit a depot in Kyiv, and one of the dead was an Indian citizen, President Zelenskyy said. Russia's Defense Ministry called it a massive strike targeting weapons production and military infrastructure.
