NASA and IBM release an open-source AI model for lunar science

A new NASA-IBM model is designed to help analyse the Moon's craters, volcanic features and permanently shadowed regions.

NASA and IBM released an open-source AI model for lunar science on September 10. IBM Research says it can map lunar craters, study volcanic features and search permanently shadowed regions for potential ice. Reuters says the model was trained on more than 30 data layers from nine NASA mission instruments.
