Kuwait intercepts fresh Iranian missile and drone attacks after strikes on oil, power and water facilities
Kuwait's military intercepted a fresh wave of Iranian missiles and drones on Sunday as air raid sirens sounded in Kuwait City, according to RFE/RL. Earlier Iranian strikes hit oil, electricity and water facilities, causing fires and injuries among firefighters and oil workers, Kuwait's defense ministry said via KUNA. Kuwait's foreign ministry says the attacks violate UN Security Council Resolution 2817.
Kuwait's armed forces intercepted a fresh wave of Iranian missiles and drones on Sunday, with air raid sirens sounding in Kuwait City. Iran's army called it the seventeenth phase of its Operation Saeqeh and said it targeted an ammunition depot at Camp Al-Adairi and radar systems at Ali Al Salem Air Base, in response to US strikes on Iranian territory. A day earlier, Iranian attacks hit Kuwaiti oil, electricity and water facilities, causing fires and significant damage. Injuries were reported among Kuwait Fire Force personnel and oil sector workers, while debris from intercepted weapons fell in residential areas. Kuwait's foreign ministry condemned the strike on a power and water desalination facility as a violation of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2817.
