Israel just captured a nine hundred year old castle in southern Lebanon for the first time in twenty six years. The Golani Brigade raised the Israeli flag above the ancient walls of Beaufort Castle as Prime Minister Netanyahu ordered the military to expand its ground operation, calling the move a dramatic shift in Israel's Lebanon policy. The castle sits about nine miles from the Israeli border and just five kilometres from Nabatieh. France has requested an emergency UN Security Council meeting.
