Eli Lilly $LLY released Phase 3 results from its TRIUMPH-1 trial showing the experimental drug retatrutide drove an average 28.3 percent body-weight loss at the highest dose over 80 weeks - about 70 pounds and the first time a medication has reached bariatric-surgery territory. Retatrutide is a triple hormone receptor agonist hitting GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon receptors at once. About 45 percent of patients on the 12 milligram dose lost at least 30 percent of body weight. The trial enrolled 2,339 adults with obesity or overweight plus one weight-related condition, none with diabetes. FDA submission comes next.
