Denmark warns of escalating Russian hybrid attacks while invasion remains unlikely

Denmark's Defence Intelligence Service assessed on September 24 that Russia would intensify hybrid attacks against Western and NATO targets in the coming months, potentially including destructive cyberattacks and sabotage. It described the risk of a limited military attack on one or more NATO countries bordering Russia as low but growing, even while Russia's war in Ukraine continues. The service saw no indication of an outright invasion of NATO territory and considered that scenario highly unlikely, though not impossible. Denmark's societal-security agency separately raised its national threat level for destructive cyberattacks from medium to high on September 24.
