Cerebras Systems $CBRS jumped about 68% on its Nasdaq debut after pricing the IPO at $185 per share, raising $5.55 billion. It was the biggest US tech IPO since Snowflake in 2020 and the first major pureplay AI listing. The largest beneficiary is Benchmark, which co-led the 2016 Series A and bought roughly 80% of its position for around $18 million. At first-day close that stake was worth about $5.5 billion. Foundation Capital, another Series A backer, holds shares worth around $4.8 billion. OpenAI is the third major winner: it struck a partnership with Cerebras in late 2025 that gives it an eventual 11% stake in exchange for billions of dollars in compute commitments. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman also held about 89,000 shares as of Dec. 31, worth roughly $16.5 million at the IPO price. Cerebras designs wafer-scale AI processors, single pieces of silicon roughly the size of a dinner plate with around four trillion transistors. Sources: CNBC, TechCrunch
