August inflation across four EU economies

Eurostat's August 2026 flash estimates put annual inflation at 4.5% in Spain, 3.2% in Italy, 2.9% in Germany and 2.7% in France.

Eurostat's preliminary August 2026 all-items HICP figures put Spain at 4.5%, Italy at 3.2%, Germany at 2.9% and France at 2.7%. The four-country comparison uses annual rates: consumer prices compared with the same month one year earlier, as defined by Eurostat. The flash estimates were released on 1 September 2026 and are not final readings.
